Honda Week of Service

June 17th, 2019 by

On June 11th, approximately 40 volunteers from Hendrick Honda and Hendrick Automotive Group, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, packed 1000 backpacks with non-perishable food items for community members in need. This meal-packing event was held in conjunction with the Honda Week of Service, in which more than 25,000 volunteers across North America conduct volunteer service activities in their communities.

“Through this coordinated week of volunteer projects across North America, we are joining Honda in reinforcing the Team Honda spirit of working together to make a difference in the communities where we live and work,” says Matthew Ricks, General Manager, Hendrick Honda. “Our employees are happy to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to make a positive impact in the community we call home.”

As Honda celebrates its 60th anniversary, the Week of Service is timed to coincide with the establishment of the first Honda business operation in North America on June 11, 1959.
